Meet Stephanie

Hi friends, thanks for checking out my blog.

My name is Stephanie, but you can just call me Steph – all my friends do!

I’m a wife to a wonderful man, a part-time student studying business and nutrition here in California,  employed full-time in the IT world, Crossfitter, and a self-proclaimed home chef.

Life is busy, but life is good.

with my husband, Matt.

I started Cave Girl Culture in 2013 because I loved cooking and sharing meals with friends and family, and I wanted to spread that passion to people around the world. Sharing recipes is a wonderful way to keep our traditions, our roots, and our cultures alive. After all, everything we do in life revolves around food!

circa 2013 when CGC first started!

When I first got this blog off the ground, I was focusing on a Paleo approach – no processed foods, no grains, dairy, refined sugar, or legumes. This approach was exactly what I needed to learn how to listen to my body, and understand what foods really made me feel good on a day-to-day basis.

But over the years, I’ve come to a better understanding of what my body needs, and it’s an ever-evolving adventure. I no longer follow a strictly Paleo approach, instead, I have chosen a sustainable, real food approach that fuels me throughout my busy and active lifestyle. It’s really very simple -I like to find fun, creative and delicious ways to eat lots of meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. I try to limit the amount of sugar I eat while keeping things balanced.

I eat not just to survive, but to perform.

You will find most of my recipes here are grain and refined sugar-free because that’s what feels good to me on a consistent basis, but you may see some that aren’t. I encourage you to enjoy the recipes on here that would make YOUR body feel good, and maybe even try something new!

I always welcome feedback and I love getting to know people so please, don’t feel shy! Feel free to post a comment, say hi or even drop me an email at

Stay happy and healthy,

Cave Girl Culture

Awesome blogs and stoked to see you’re doing what you love. Not many people from our high school class are doing that. Shocked I ran across your blog and this is an old high school acquaintance paying his respects.

    Best Wishes
